As the festive season returns to Glasgow, the following information is to advise you of planned events and the arrangements put in place to reduce disruption to local residents, and to help you to enjoy the celebrations.
Glasgow’s Christmas Lights - Sunday 20th November 2011
As a local resident you are entitled to up to four tickets for the event, the deadline for allocation of these tickets has now passed.
Unfortunately, to ensure crowd safety, it is necessary to put parking restrictions in place. Alternative residents’ parking has been secured in Glasgow City Council’s Upper High Street car park from 8am on Saturday 19th November until 12 Noon on Monday 21st November 2011. Residents who already possess an on-street car-parking pass should simply ensure that this is on display when in this car park. Those residents who do not possess such a pass should display this letter folded with the Glasgow Life logo showing on the dashboard.
Glasgow On Ice - Saturday 26th November 2011 - Tuesday 3rd January

Glasgow on Ice will be open from Saturday 26th November through until Tuesday 3rd January 2011, every day from 10am – 10pm except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. There will be entertainment every evening. Please refer Glasgow on Ice for more information on the stage and screen programme.
Glasgow Loves St. Andrew’s Day - Saturday 26th- Wednesday 30th
November 2011
Glasgow begins the celebration of the patron saint of Scotland on the opening weekend of Glasgow On Ice with the now firmly established Shindig Event. See Glasgow Loves St Andrew’s Day for more details.
Hogmanay 2011 – Saturday 31st December 2011
This new Hogmanay event will be for all the family from 12 – 10pm. There will be no road or parking restrictions as a result of this new format event and tickets are not required for access. See Glasgow Loves Hogmanay for more information.
