Buy ​Under 8 Skate Tickets - Under 8  skate sessions are for children aged 3-7 years, who are beginner skaters, accompanied by an adult.  These sessions are quieter than regular sessions to allow children more space to skate.

Peak sessions are our most popular sessions after 6pm in the evening, at weekends​ and all sessions from 18 December to 31 December 2015. 

Under 8  skate sessions are for children aged 3-7 years, who are beginner skaters, accompanied by an adult.  These sessions are quieter than regular sessions to allow children more space to skate.

Reduced Capacity sessions are for those less confident on the ice and would enjoy skating at a more sedate pace, particularly for anyone who might require some extra space on the ice - for example those with accessibility needs. ​Those age 3 – 7 and their carers may enjoy a Reduced Capacity skate session also. 


Students won't want to miss out on Magic Monday where they can skate on a Monday for just £6 a session.​

Young Scot and Kidz Card holders can take to the ice at specially discounted rates* ​to enjoy the unique experience of skating underneath Glasgow Christmas lights.

This is an outdoor event and no refunds will be given due to inclement weather. Surface water on the rink is normal and therefore you may get wet.

​* Family tickets of 4 (2 Adults & 2 Children) or 5 (2 Adults & 3 Children) are available in advance from the Box Office at Glasgow Royal Concert Halls or City Halls either in person or by telephoning 0141 353 8000. Family tickets can also be purchased on the day only at the Box Office at George Square
GRCH & City Halls are open Monday to Saturday 10am-6pm.
** T&Cs apply: Young Scot and Kidz Card holders can skate for £4.50​. Last skating session at this discounted rate is 7pm. Glasgow and East Renfrewshire Young Scot and Kidz Card holders only.

Age Limits for Children

 
Under 3 Sorry no skating.

Age 3 – 7 Under 8 and Reduced Capacity skate sessions only. 

Age 5 – 8 confident skaters must be accompanied with adult and participate in main sessions only.

​Do you have very young children who would love to try ice skating? Then book one of our Under 8 Skate Sessions​ for children aged 3-7 years.

 

Under 8 Skate sessions have been designed especially to allow young skaters to enjoy the ice rink with a parent or carer. The sessions are private for little skaters and their grown-ups only so you will get the rink all to yourselves. A session ticket is for ONE adult with ONE child. There is limited availability for additional child/parent/carer tickets at these sessions.


Skate sizes start at children's size 8, but we also have bob skates which are adjustable for smaller feet.  We can also supply 'skate aids' to help novice skaters keep their balance.

Reduced Capacity Sessions


We have Reduced Capacity​​ sessions for those who don't feel as confident on the ice but still want to enjoy a glide about under the Christmas Lights! These sessions are for those with accessible needs where there are less people on the ice so you have more room for manoeuvre​. Those age 3​​ – 7 and their parent / carer may enjoy a Reduced Capacity skate session also​


​There is no charge for Personal Assistant admission.​
