TCs for st lukes panto.pdf​He’s behind you! It isn’t quite Christmas until you’ve been to see one of Glasgow’s many fun, family pantomimes and Christmas shows. Here’s a list of some of our favourites: 

Touring community pantomime - various venues.
29 November - 17 December 2017

Glasgow Arts' touring pantomime is returning to community venues across the city. This year, we're telling the traditional tale of Aladdin, with a unique Glasgow twist. Tickets are just £3/£2 concessions.

King’s Theatre                                           
2nd December 2016 – 8th January 2017                                                     

The fairy godmother of all pantos – head to the King’s Theatre this Christmas for the magical story of Cinderella. With Gregor Fisher and Tony Roper as the ugly stepsisters and Glasgow favourite Des Clarke as Buttons.

10th – 31st December 2016

Hold on to your Santa hats! This festive season, Aladdin promises to take audiences to a whole new world. With Clydebank’s very own Marti Pellow starring as the evil sorcerer Abanazar and Johnny Mac as Wishee Washee, it’s sure to be a pantomime spectacular.

Elfie’s Magical Adventure
Pavilion Theatre 
24th November 2016 – 17th January 2017

A fabulously festive, brand new panto at the Pavilion Theatre - Elfie’s Magical Adventure. The whole family will be in stitches with lots of slapstick fun, starring Liam Dolan as Elfie the Magical Elf and Grado as The Growler. Warm up your vocals and get ready for the ultimate Christmas singalong!

The Night After Christmas
Tron Theatre
29th November – 31st December 2016 

One for the little ones – head to the Tron Theatre this Christmas for a fun-filled show about two elves cooking a feast for a tired Rudolph and Santa in The Night After Christmas. Suitable for 3-6 year olds, written and directed by Lisa Keenan. 

Snaw Queen
Tron Theatre
29th November 2016 – 7th January 2017

The Tron’s ever-playful panto! This year follows Johnny McKnight’s story of the evil Snaw Queen, who’s on a mission to keep Christmas out of ‘Weegietown’, and captures Rudolph in the process. 

Hansel & Gretel
Citizens Theatre 
6th December 2016 – 7th January 2017

A treat-filled, festive show suitable for the whole family - this Christmas join Hansel and Gretel on their colourful forest adventure filled with suspense, laughter and a few surprising twists.

Simon’s Magical Christmas Socks
Citizens Theatre
8th – 31st December 2016

An interactive, festive show suitable for 3 – 6 year olds – Simon’s Magical Christmas Socks! Go on an adventure with ordinary boy Simon Smith and his pair of magical socks, on a quest to help Santa Claus save Christmas.  

The RSNO Christmas Concert

Christmas has officially arrived! Let the Snowman take you on a magically festive journey with this special showing of the Christmas classic. Shown on the large screen, and accompanied by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, this Christmas party is perfect for the entire family. Filled with seasonal favourites, carols old and new – and, of course, everyone is encouraged to sing along!

Scottish Ballet’s Hansel & Gretel
Theatre Royal
5th – 14th January 2017

Inspired by the classic fairy tale story, Scottish Ballet’s take on Hansel & Gretel follows their journey into an enchanted forest to find missing friends. This festive treat is choreographed by Christopher Hampson and features Engelbert Humperdinck’s famous score, performed live by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra.

BBC Radio Scotland’s Jamie MacDougall presents and sings some of the most famous, familiar and fantastic tunes written for the Silver Screen. There’s something for all ages: music from West Side Story, Casablanca and Citizen Kane for the grown-ups, and some Disney and Pixar favourites for younger film fans, all performed live by an 80-piece orchestra!

Christmas with the BBC SSO

Gather family and friends for a special seasonal evening with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Tenor and BBC Radio Scotland presenter Jamie MacDougall is your host and he’s joined by conductor Stephen Bell and vocalist Clare Teal for some beautiful arrangements of classic festive songs and carols.
